Placement prints or Engineered Prints 

Till recently fabric would have a repeating pattern. Thats no longer necessary with the advent of digital printing. The print design we offer typically has an area thats about 44" x 60" ( or larger ) without repetition. It becomes possible to place artwork on the garment with every part of the print being unique. We adjust scale, color palettes, and re-paint areas to work with your pattern.

Workflow and Schedule

The default method of printing would be the file being printed to a width of the fabric.However, since most of the artwork does not repeat, so it's necessary for the designer to decide how the art will be positioned on the pattern. You can do this yourself but we are happy to help if needed. 

Simple customization such as color, scale changes are billed at $25/hour. Complex customization such as extending artwork, re-painting parts, creating 3d models etc. are billed at $50/hour. 

 In this image below you can see how the artwork would be positioned on the pattern on the right side window and how the garment would look in the left. 

 

Production will not commence until the client has given written approval on color, scale, placement and fabric. The time required for a project would be as follows ( excluding the time the client takes to make decisions )

1. simple customization 1-2 days

2. complex customization  2-4 days ( would vary depending on the customization needed. )

3. Clo3d / Marvelous designer 3d model and 2 rendered placement options can be done in 3-5 days

4. sample print on polyester ( 2-3 days ). A polyester sample can be used to check scale, placement and initial color. 

5. print on viscose, wool, cotton, silk, requires 7 days
