100% COTTON CAMBRIC

Cotton Cambric is a lightweight, tightly woven, plain-weave cotton fabric known for its smooth texture, durability, and breathability. Originally developed in Cambrai, France, cambric was traditionally used for fine linens and delicate embroidery.

Characteristics of Cotton Cambric:

  • Soft & Smooth: Has a fine, even weave with a slightly crisp finish.
  • Lightweight & Breathable: Ideal for warm climates and summer wear.
  • Tightly Woven: Offers good structure while remaining soft.
  • Matte Finish: Unlike poplin or sateen, it has a more natural look.
  • Absorbent & Comfortable: Pure cotton composition makes it skin-friendly.

Common Uses of Cotton Cambric:

  • Apparel: Shirts, dresses, tunics, blouses, and children's wear.
  • Home Textiles: Lightweight curtains, pillow covers, and handkerchiefs.
  • Crafts & Embroidery: A popular base for block printing and needlework.

It is often compared to cotton voile or lawn, but cambric is slightly heavier and more opaque. It drapes well but retains a bit of structure, making it versatile for both casual and semi-formal wear.
